Whether you prefer angels, Santa Claus or Will Ferrell playing an elf, Christmas is a good time t... Hollywood holidays...
Sadie, 75, said the film in which a little girl helps Santa Claus prove his existence in a court of law has had a special place in his heart for a long time.
Sadie also is fond of 1990 action-comedy blockbuster "Home Alone." The film stars Macaulay Culkin as an 8-year-old who battles burglars after his parents accidentally leave him behind for a holiday trip. Even though Sadie acknowledges the film is silly, he has already watched it more than once this month.
Steve Fesenmaier, a former director for the West Virginia Film Services Division, has a different breed of holiday film on his list of favorites.
Fesenmaier said he likes humor mixed with realism. He believes people are embracing this type of movie because it offers them a way to vent holiday frustrations.
"We are a movie-obsessed culture," Fesenmaier said. "During the holidays people are relying more on humor to break the ice with all the endless stress that Christmas gives us."
